Possible Neighbor Dispute Leads to Murder, One in Custody

Around 6:57 PM, a caller reported a shooting in the 2800 block of Palo Verde Dr. NE. The caller told dispatchers they had found a person who had been shot and was lying face down in a driveway. Officers from the Albuquerque Police Department’s Foothills Area Command were dispatched to the scene.

When officers arrived, they found an individual with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Albuquerque Fire Rescue and Albuquerque Ambulance promptly provided medical assistance to the victim.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining injuries in the shooting.

We contacted APD about this incident. They indicated the shooting is being investigated as a homicide call out. One individual was taken into custody, and the incident may have stemmed from a dispute between neighbors.
