Albuquerque –

Just after 9:40 PM, the Albuquerque Police Department was dispatched to the 420 block of Vermont St. Minutes later, an additional caller phoned 911 informing the emergency operator that a person with a gunshot wound was found in the 500 block of Vermont. The individual reportedly had a gunshot wound to the stomach.

Emergency personnel are transporting the person to a local area hospital.

APD is actively looking for the offender. There is a police presence in the area of Vermont and Copper.

If we learn more about this incident, we will update you.

UPDATE:

APD has purportedly taken one person into custody. Officers are still searching the area to make sure no other persons were struck by gunfire, as numerous casings were found.
