Albuquerque –

Over the weekend, there was a post floating around social media that showed a bloody trash bag. The post had a person claiming to have found human remains in the Pajarito Mesa. The post went on to claim that police had indeed came out to the scene and investigated the violence.

The comments on social media had many speculations and observations and some claiming this what cartel groups would do. We reached out to Bernalillo County Sheriff’s office to see if they responded to a call out on the west mesa. They confirmed they were dispatched to the area for the call.

“Deputies advised that without question, it was a portion of a large animal based on appearance of tissue and the femur and other bones that greatly exceeded human size,” said Bernalillo County Sheriff office Public Information Officer Jayme Fuller Gonzales.

New Mexico is in the midst of hunting season for large game animals and this could have been from someone simply dumping the wild game remains into the mesa.

  1. That would suck to be the guy that has to check every piece. Who’s to say they didn’t mix animal and human remains together to disguise a murder? If they don’t sift through it all, now you know how to hide a body…
