Albuquerque –

Just after 8:10 PM, an individual called 911 to report a stabbing at Rhode Island and Central Ave NE. The witness informed dispatch that someone had been knifed, reportedly in the chest, and the victim was losing a lot of blood.

When officers from the Albuquerque Police Department arrived, they found the person who had been stabbed. Albuquerque Fire Rescue dispatched Rescue 5, which transported the victim to a local hospital. The condition of the victim is currently unknown.

The offender fled on foot after the stabbing. However, APD has now detained someone for questioning.

If we learn more about this incident, we will update you.

UPDATE:

The person who was stabbed was reported hit three times. When we last heard, they were in stable condition at a local area hospital.
