Albuquerque –
Just before 2:40 PM, calls came into 911 about a stabbing near Civic Plaza. There are initial reports of at least two people were stabbed near the playground at Civic Plaza.
This stabbing may have occurred in self-defense. When APD arrived, they were not been able to locate anyone with stab wounds, but there is a copious amount of blood on the scene. In addition, witnesses in the area reported the individuals who were stabbed were using clothing for tourniquets. Multiply people were detained for questioning because of varying witness accounts.
The Civic Plaza area is deemed a school zone and no weapons are allowed in this area. A few years ago the City of Albuquerque deemed it a school zone and weapons fire area. To date we have not seen any classes being held during the school year at Civic Plaza.
After APD canvassed the area, they were able to locate two people with stab injuries. Albuquerque Fire Rescue and Albuquerque Ambulance are transporting them to a local area hospital.
We will update the story when we have more information.
More of our nice unhoused neighbors! I wouldn’t be surprised if the suspect is the lunatic who stabbed the beer vendor in 2020 who was let go in 2022. Leftist shitbags love their violent criminals!!!
Unless you’re hanging at civic every day, it would be easy to miss the nearby schools that utilize the plaza for classes. All downtown schools use it at different times for different reasons.
