Suspect Booked in Violent Knife Attack Along Central

SE Albuquerque –

Tobias Gutierrez of Albuquerque was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center on aggravated battery charges. He was accused of stabbing multiple people along Central Ave. and was finally captured near the Wyoming Central intersection.

Albuquerque Police were dispatched on Sunday to multiple locations with knife wound victims. Apparently Gutierrez was stabbing people at random. The weapon was described as a buck knife. Typically, most buck knives are 3 to 3-3/4ths in blade length.

Some of the victims are in critical condition and charges could be upgraded. Gutierrez has an extensive criminal record dating back to 2005 ranging from aggravated DWI, burglary, assaults, and possession of drugs.
