Albuquerque –
Earlier today, the Albuquerque Police Department was attempting to arrest an armed suspect who was barricaded inside a property on the 400 block of Arno St SE. Reports from APD say that at least one shot was fired during a foot chase before the suspect entered the property.
Throughout this SWAT standoff, we received numerous tips about police activity and roadblocks near Lead and Walter, Broadway and Lead, Coal and Broadway, Lomas and Broadway, and Silver and Lomas.
As we reported to you earlier, the stand-off ended just before 6:40 PM. According to an email from APD, “Following extensive attempts to negotiate, the stand-off resulted in an officer-involved shooting. The suspect died as a result of his wounds.”
Chief Harold Medina of APD will give an update within the hour. Our reporter on the scene will keep you informed.
APD has not confirmed whether any officers were injured during the ordeal.
UPDATE:
As of 9:10PM, we are still waiting from the media update.
UPDATE 2:
APD concluded the briefing at 9:30PM. We will update this story with any additional details as soon as we are able.
Vermin: Exterminated.
He did not have a gun. It was his cell phone. Police lied. They murdered him. He was scared to go to jail
Good news, then! He won’t be going (back) to jail.
This is all fake. The man identified is not the person who was killed. It’s a cover up. The Albuquerque Police need to be investigated for falsified information and the officers prosecuted.
