Bernalillo/Albuquerque –
At around 6:00 PM, the Tractor Supply in the Town of Bernalillo was robbed at gunpoint. Witnesses say that at least one suspect pointed a gun at the store clerk.
Bernalillo Police responded quickly to the scene and gathered suspect information. They located the suspect’s vehicle and initiated a pursuit which headed south into Albuquerque. Speeds during the pursuit were said reach up to 90 MPH.
Bernalillo Police chased the vehicle to Rio Grande Blvd and I-40 but lost visual contact and the offenders escaped. It is unclear if the Albuquerque Police or Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office were involved.
We will update this story if more information becomes available.
The chase ran through Corrales. I came upon the chase on Corrales Rd around 6 PM yesterday and saw a large 90’s middle SUV and 6+ Bernalillo County police cars were in pursuit through Corrales. I am shocked that anyone decides to go through Corrales and more shocked that they actually got away. I don’t understand why the Bell Oak County Police Department dispatch didn’t call to have Corrales Police set up a roadblock a before Alameda.
Correction, voice text, “why the Bernalillo county police dept.”
it says Bernalillo PD not BCSO
