Traffic Report for September 16th, 2025

We will give updates on crashes we hear around the Albuquerque area. We’ll include the time and location of each incident and continue updating the list as new crash reports come in from across the Albuquerque metro area.

As a rule of thumb, most crashes are cleaned up within a hour or less. If it is a critical or fatal incident it will take up to 4 hours for the crash to be investigated. Below you will find resources of Twitter accounts for law enforcement agencies in the ABQ metro and NM DOT Cameras. Drive safe and stay safe.

Albuquerque –

@ 10:03 AM

APD is responding to a crash at Montgomery and Jefferson. Officers from Albuquerque Police and Police Service Aides were sent. Exact injuries are unknown.

@ 10:15 AM

A pedestrian reportedly stepped in front of an oncoming APD police car near the intersection of Lomas Blvd NW & 5th St NW. The injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

There might be a protest in this general vicinity, which could lead to traffic disruptions in the area.

APD officers were dispatched to Golf Course and Irving for a motor vehicle crash. Injuries were initially reported to be minor.

@ 1:15 PM

BCSO deputies were dispatched to a three vehicle crash at Osuna Rd NW & 2nd St NW. The airbags on the cars involved deployed, one car has moderate damage. At the scene, two people were found to have minor injuries.

@ 2:09 PM

APD officers and AFR crews responded to a head-on collision at the intersection of Mullen Rd NW & 4th St NW. In this incident, airbags were deployed, and at least one vehicle came to a stop in close proximity to the bus stop that is between Mullen Rd NW and Willow Rd NW. When AFR was dispatched, it was advised that one person was reportedly trapped. BCSO may take over this crash investigation as it is their jurisdiction. AFR personnel transported at least three patients to the hospital—one in serious condition and two with non-life-threatening injuries.

@ 4:25PM

Officers from APD responded to an accident near Juan Tabo and Central. It appears eastbound Central at Juan Tabo is affected by the crash.

@ 5:36 PM

An accident was reported near Paseo del Norte Blvd NE and San Pedro Dr. NE. The accident reportedly occurred in the westbound lanes of traffic, just past the traffic light.

As of 6:20 PM, this crash still has lanes closed.

@ 6:15PM

A crash occurred on southbound Unser Blvd before Westside Blvd. An officer from the Albuquerque Police Department was reportedly involved in the accident. The extent of injuries sustained by the officer and other drivers is currently unknown.

Around 6:50 PM a wrecker was called for this accident.

@ 7:15 PM

A possible carjacking occurred near 6th and Marquette and another incident happened near 7th and Gold. Purportedly, at least one person was taken to UNMH with injuries. Officers from APD have streets blocked in this area.
