Girard Homicide Investigation statement

Albuquerque –
It was a busy five hours for Albuquerque Police homicide detectives and Officers and as they investigated two separate homicide scenes. APD Violent Crimes Lieutenant Ray Del Greco filled us in on the nights violence.
The first scene was at 1202 Girard NE. Where officers were called out around 11PM reference to a shots fired call. When Officers investigated further they found a male and female both deceased from gunshot wounds.
The second scene officers were dispatched at around 4:00AM to Desert Willow Apartments. after a woman called 911 saying her neighbor was banging on her door and needed help. When Officers met with the Michelle Morgan they learned a male was dead inside the apartment which they shared together. According to a criminal complaint, Morgan and the male were in a domestic dispute that started after a day of hiking. Morgan left her boyfriend at the La Luz Trail to walk home. Detectives wrote in the complaint that there were many inconsistency in Morgan’s story. Morgan did admit to slashing her boyfriend’s Achilles heels, slashing his throat, and neck area. Homicide detectives found the victim had deep wounds to his facial area and other parts of his body. Detectives noted many inconsistencies in Morgan’s story and charged her with second degree murder.

This is one of Albuquerque’s deadliest five hours of 2022. This also puts the 2022 homicide count at 47.
