Albuquerque –

Two brothers from Albuquerque are facing federal charges for firearm-related offenses.

Riley Kellner, 22, is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. According to the indictment, Riley allegedly had a gun and ammunition on August 10, 2024, despite a prior conviction for shooting at or from a vehicle. He appeared in federal court and was ordered to remain in custody while awaiting a trial date.

Adin Kellner, 26, faces 11 counts of making false statements during firearm purchases. The indictment claims that from October 8, 2019, to February 24, 2023, Adin falsely stated he was the buyer of the firearms when he was actually purchasing them for someone else. He appeared in federal court and was released with certain conditions, pending a trial set for December 16, 2024.

If convicted, Riley could face up to 15 years in prison, while Adin could face up to 10 years.

U.S. Attorney Alexander M.M. Uballez and Brendan Iber, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), announced the charges today. The ATF and Albuquerque Police Department jointly investigated the cases, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jaymie L. Roybal handling prosecution.

An indictment is merely an accusation, and both defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
