Albuquerque –
Homicide detectives worked with the District Attorney’s Office and determined this case will be investigated as a possible justifiable homicide.
The preliminary investigation determined that three men were involved in a confrontation at 8304 Decatur Ave., S.E. Two of the men attacked the third man with a knife and a pole. A fourth man got involved to help the victim who was being attacked. The fourth man produced a firearm and shot one of the attackers.
The alleged attacker, who has not yet been identified, died as a result of the gunshot. The second alleged attacker fled the scene on foot.
The victim of the attack fled the scene on a motorcycle and crashed nearby. That man was transported to the hospital with stab wounds and is currently in stable condition.
Detectives will continue to investigate the incident. No charges have been filed at this time.
