On October 10, 2026 around 1:35a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of northbound Unser Blvd NW and Ladera Dr NW in reference single vehicle fatal crash. APD’s Fatal Crash Unit responded to the scene to investigate.
Through the investigation, it was discovered that a purple 2013 Infiniti was traveling at a high rate of speed north on Unser from I-40. The vehicle ran a red light at Ladera. The vehicle lost control after Ladera and crashed through three trees into the median. The vehicle then caught fire and three individuals died as a result. A fourth person was airlifted to Lubbock, TX for severe burns.
At this time, the decedents have not yet been identified and the crash remains under investigation.
