Homicide detectives from the Albuquerque Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred around 12:38 AM, near the Marion L. Fox Memorial Park, located at Alvarado Dr. and Marquette Ave. NE.

According to limited information released by APD, the ShotSpotter system detected multiple gunshots in the park. Additionally, a 911 caller also reported hearing shots fired.
Officers responded to the park, where they found a man who had been shot. He was beyond help and died at the scene.
Police have detained one person for questioning.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have begun investigating the shooting, gathering evidence, and processing the scene.
