Albuquerque –
Used and unused rubber was the downfall of 28-year-old Jeremy Valencia and 36-year-old Kayla Svihula of Albuquerque.
On April 23rd, 2026, Valencia and Svihula were observed in a vehicle without tags. A Southeast area command officer attempted to pull the car over and it fled at a high rate of speed. The officer was able to deploy a GPS tracking device onto the vehicle as it fled. At one point the car hit a curb and ruined the front driver side tire shredding rubber everywhere. The suspects continued to drive around town recklessly even on the mangled tire and wheel.
The car finally stopped at the 3800 block of Calle Del Monte and two occupants fled the car. APD arrived immediately after and a neighbor said the two suspects had barricaded inside a nearby garage. APD was on scene for an hour so trying to coax the two cretins out of the garage.
APD’s public address announcements were futile and the crooks held their position. Thats when the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit entered the chat. According to a spokeswoman, K9 “Hulk” was deployed to the garage by his handler and he was able to apprehend Valencia and Svihula.
Svihula was bit by the fur missile and Albuquerque Fire Rescue checked out her injuries. She was loaded onto a gurney and we could see massive bite marks on her bicep.
Valencia appeared to not be bitten by the K9 and was in the back of a police unit. Valencia seemed agitated about either being caught or the fact that the dog chose to bite his partner in crime instead of him.
Along the path where the duo fled we noticed two unopened Magnum brand condoms. It is not clear if Valencia and Svihula had different plans prior to this felonious adventure.
They both were charged with aggravated fleeing law enforcement and burglary. They also both had warrants from previous cases.
They were booked into MDC and will be held till they see a judge on their cases.
