Woman Hospitalized After Stabbing Near War Zone Dollar Tree

Albuquerque –

Just before 5:49 PM on Thursday, an individual phoned 911 to report a stabbing near the Dollar Tree, off of Zuni Rd SE and San Mateo Blvd SE. The caller said a woman had been stabbed in the side. Officers with the Albuquerque Police Department and medics from Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded.

While en route, officers were told the victim was near traffic lanes at Zuni and Palomas Dr SE. Officers rendered aid until AFR crews arrived. The woman was then taken to a local hospital, where she is reportedly in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene after the stabbing, and police are actively searching for the individual.

APD officers have blocked streets in the area while the investigation continues.
