Infant Pronounced Dead at UNMH; APD’s Crimes Against Children Unit Investigates

Albuquerque –

The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a death of a baby who was brought to the University of New Mexico Hospital. Hospital staff pronounced the infant dead.

As part of the ongoing investigation, APD officers are on scene at a residence in the 1600 block of Spence Ave SE. Spence is currently closed between University Blvd SE and Mesa St SE.

APD’s Crimes Against Children Unit (CACU) has been called out to determine the circumstances surrounding the infant’s death. The Office of the Medical Investigator also responded and is assisting with the investigation.
