Albuquerque –
On Friday, December 6th, 2024, at approximately 6:18 PM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to 1012 Muriel Street Northeast for reports of a potential structure fire at a single-family dwelling. Engine 12 arrived on the scene and reported the presence of smoke and fire within the dwelling.
While searching the structure, firefighters rescued two dogs from the smoke and flames, one of which is being treated with oxygen and the other being in stable condition.
The fire was brought under control within 24 minutes of their arrival. No reports of injuries to civilians or firefighters were received.
The residence is currently uninhabitable. The property owner was present at the scene of the fire. The cause of the fire appears to be accidental.
