Albuquerque –

Officers from the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash at approximately 7:40 PM. The crash occurred in the 4500 block of 4th St NW, which is near 4th St NW and Bellrose Ave NW.

When APD officers and emergency workers from Albuquerque Fire Rescue arrived, the pedestrian had sustained serious injuries. Rescue 6 transported the injured pedestrian to a local area hospital.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian reportedly remained at the scene and, from what we can gather, appears to be cooperating with authorities. When the driver called 911, they stated that they did not see the pedestrian step into the lanes of travel.

APD appears to be closing 4th Street in both directions between Bellrose Avenue and San Clemente Avenue.
