Another Teen Killed in Downtown Shooting, APD Also Confirms 3 Dead in Separate Incident

It was a violent weekend with 5 homicides. The Albuquerque Police Department updated two cases from this weekend.

We will start with the Downtown homicide, the victim has been identified as 13-year-old Michael Tubb, who was the passenger in a vehicle when he was shot multiple times and died at the scene. A 17-year-old passenger was struck in the ankle with bullet fragments and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The 17-year-old driver was not injured.

The victims were shot at an intersection south of Downtown. They drove north after the shooting and were involved in a crash with another vehicle in the area of Gold Ave. and 5th St., S.W. Police were a few blocks away and were flagged down about the crash. They discovered the two victims with gunshot wounds, attempted first aid and called AFR for assistance.

The Albuquerque Downtown area has been a hotbed of violent actions towards teens with murders and aggravated batteries.

We reported on 3 people dead at the 900 block of Alvarado Dr., S.E. on Sunday. APD has updated that officers found three adults who were determined to be deceased with gunshot wounds. Detectives are investigating the deaths as a possible double-murder, followed by the death of the offender by suicide. Detectives are in the process of identifying the individuals and notifying next of kin.
