At approximately 2:25 PM, officers from the Albuquerque Police Department and emergency responders from Albuquerque Fire Rescue swiftly responded to a multi-vehicle collision on westbound I-40 near Coors.

According to reports, the collision occurred when two individuals, seemingly inspired by the movie “Fast and Furious,” acted recklessly without regard for real-life consequences. Witnesses said the two cars involved did not appear to remain at the scene.

This is a developing story and it is unclear if there are injuries related to this crash.

We believe the left lane of I-40 westbound is impacted by the crash, but we are working to confirm this. Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible or proceed with caution while driving in the vicinity.
