Albuquerque –
The Albuquerque Police Department is actively investigating a fatal stabbing near the intersection of Central Ave and Coors Blvd NW.
At approximately 9:00 AM, officers responded to reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they located a deceased individual. The suspect remains at large. A bystander in the area reported the incident occurred near a bus stop.
Homicide detectives are en route, and the investigation is unfolding. Additional details will be provided as they become available.
Central Avenue is closed in both directions between 60th and 64th Streets. APD says motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
A reporter is currently on the way to this location, and we will provide updates and video from the scene as additional information becomes available.
UPDATE:
At 10:30 AM, APD’s PIO sent out a message which stated:
“Officers are expanding the perimeter of the crime scene as a result of the location of the city bus. Please be aware that both lanes of Central are closed and the scene will likely extend from 60th to 64th Streets.”
That’s a bad area. Sort of a mini War Zone.
