Albuquerque –

Just before 6:00 PM, on April 1, the Albuquerque Police Department and Bernalillo County Fire Rescue were dispatched to the area of Jefferson St. NE and Singer Blvd. NE in response to a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, APD and BCFR found a car occupant pinned inside the vehicle, reportedly suffering from a head injury.

BCFR transported the woman to the University of New Mexico Hospital. They were purportedly listed in critical condition at time of transport.

Due to the severity of the person’s injuries, APD’s Motor Unit is investigating this crash. APD has streets blocked in the area and is diverting traffic as the investigation is ongoing. It is believed that APD has Jefferson closed between the frontage road for I-25 between Balloon Park Rd NE.

We will provide updates if we receive more information about the crash victim’s condition or the reopening of the road.

UPDATE:

An earlier version stated Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to the crash, however Bernalillo County Fire Rescue responded and transported the patient.
