APD Officer’s Police Car Rammed by Suspect During Traffic Stop

Albuquerque –

APD officers are searching for a blue Infinity sedan that rammed a police vehicle three times during a traffic stop shortly before 4 p.m. The incident happened in the area of Juan Tabo Blvd. and Central Ave. located in front of the Kelly’s Liquors parking lot. The vehicle was able to get away and continued to flee southbound on Eubank. APD officers swarmed the area to locate the car.

The vehicle is described as a newer model, blue Infinity with chrome rims, a white sticker on the back window. The vehicle also had fully tinted windows, and no back bumper or license plate.

We arrived on scene to see many people walking out of Kelly’s with cases of beer and other spirits for the New Year’s Eve holiday celebration while APD tried to piece together the case.

APD’s Real Time Crime Center is attempting to track down the vehicle, which fled the area after crashing into the police vehicle.

The officer was fortunately not injured during the incident.

Anyone with information about the vehicle is asked to call 505-242-COPS.
