Albuquerque –
Shortly after 3PM, the Albuquerque Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Britt Street NE in response to a barricaded subject in a house.
APD tried to resolve the situation with uniformed officers and the individual was not coming out of the house. A SWAT call out was initiated and the tactical unit began to assemble in front of the house. There were public address announcements being made.
SEE VIDEO HERE:
Some of the announcements were indicating a police dog was on scene and would be sent in to apprehend them if they kept stalling any longer.
It was a relatively short time later when a male suspect gave up after hearing about the K9 usage announcements. The threat of the fur missile being deployed seemed to scare straight the suspect.
There were two other people inside the residence who also came out peacefully and seemed to not be the focus of the investigation.
We will update the story when we find out booking information.
