The suspect has been identified as, 27-year-old Erick Barron, of Albuquerque and court records spell out more of how the crash happened.

The court documents say Barron, was pulled over by a BCSO deputy and during the traffic stop Barron gave his name as “Luis“. When the deputy returned to his vehicle, Barron flagged him back to the car to give him his real name. During that interaction, Barron put the car in drive and struggled with the deputy. The deputy was able to get out of the vehicle but sustained injuries by being drug by the suspect vehicle. The pursuit for Barron was started and he drove like an uncaring mad man throughout Albuquerque.

As we reported, the pursuit ended at the intersection in a violent crash and Barron fled the scene with no care or conscious about the people he almost killed in the intersection. A BCSO Sergeant was eventually able to take Barron into custody with a struggle.

After the dust settled, BCSO contacted Probation and Parole and to no-ones surprise he was in violation of his parole. Barron was transported to UNMH but while he was being treated he again attempted to flee out of his hospital room. BCSO deputies were able to detain him again and he was transported to the Metropolitan Detention Center.

He racked upped a whole list of new felonies for his already extensive rap sheet because of this brazen chase in Albuquerque.
