Heavy Police Presence in War Zone Due to Barricaded Suspect

There is heavy police activity in the 500 block of La Veta Dr, which is near La Veta and Grand Ave NE.

Officers from the Albuquerque Police Department are currently attempting to negotiate with a barricaded suspect.

Multiple streets in the area are blocked off. While on scene, we observed closures on La Veta between Nambe Rd. and Copper Ave. In addition, both Palomas Dr. and Madeira Dr. are also reportedly blocked off between Nambe and Copper. Closures may expand or change as the situation develops. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
