Located/Cancelled: Missing Juvenile Alert: Maia Castro

The Albuquerque Police Department is requesting your assistance in locating 12-year-old Maia Castro. Maia was last seen on September 8th, 2025, at Explore Academy at 6600 Gulton Court NE. Maia never got on the bus at the end of the day, and her current location is unknown.

According to the missing persons flyer, Maia was last seen wearing black checkered pants and purple Crocs.

UPDATE @12:15 PM:

Around 10:40 AM, Maia was found and is safe, as reported by her mother and her school on Facebook.

We contacted APD’s public information office at 11:20 and 11:45 am to request confirmation, but we have not received a response as of this update.

Around 1:10 PM, APD confirmed that Maia was located, and she is safe.
