Just before 2:05 PM, officers from the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a stabbing in the 550 block of 59th St NW, which is near Dayton Rd and 59th. The caller stated that a person had been stabbed in the abdomen and was at that location.

When officers arrived, they found a person with at least one stab wound. Emergency medical personnel rendered aid, and the victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Their exact condition is unknown.

Police were advised that a possible suspect was a male wearing a red hoodie, brown pants, and a beard. At least two APD officers later detained a male matching that description near 58th Street NW for questioning. When detaining the male, officers also observed that the stabbing may have occurred in the 540 block of 58th Street NW and that the victim fled the initial scene.

Crime scene technicians are now processing both locations.
