ALBUQUERQUE – APD homicide detectives are busy investigating two overnight shootings that occurred overnight in the Southeast Area Commands International War Zone District.
Detectives are investigating this incident as a murder-suicide in which a 22-year-old male is believed to have killed his siblings before shooting then killing himself.
Officers found a 22-year-old man inside his home with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was determined to be deceased. Officers then located the man’s 20-year-old sister and his 17-year-old brother, who were also deceased.
Homicide detectives are investigating further to determine the circumstances and motive for the shootings.

Detectives are investing this fatal shooting as a justifiable homicide.
A 77-year-old resident of the apartment complex called police at 4:17 a.m. this morning to report a burglary in progress. The man told police he fired his gun at an intruder who was armed with a knife. He did not know if the intruder was actually injured.
As police arrived, they located an adult male in the street with a gunshot wound. This man found dying in the street was later determined to be the intruder. It was determined that the man in the street died as a result of the gunshot wound.
Detectives are continuing to investigating this shooting. No charges have been filed against the resident who shot the intruder.
