Person Shot Dead at a SE ABQ Apartment Complex

Albuquerque –

At around 6:45PM, officers from the Albuquerque Police Department were dispatched to the 1000 block of Valencia Dr. SE in response to shots fired and a person down. When officers arrived on scene, they found a female victim with a gunshot wound to the head.

Witnesses described a suspect to the police and that suspect is still on the loose.

APD and APD Police Service Aides (PSAs) are shutting down Valencia and Anderson. APD’s homicide unit is enroute to this location. Albuquerque has experienced a surge in violence with 14 homicides since August 17, 2024. The total number of homicides in the Albuquerque Metro area for 2024 now stands at 80.
