Police Activity Prompts Closures Near Edith and Griegos

Albuquerque –

There is police activity in the area of Edith and Griegos/Comanche Rd NE. According to Officer Chase Jewell, the sworn Public Information Officer for the Albuquerque Police Department, officers are currently attempting to apprehend a barricaded individual.

APD officers have numerous streets in the area blocked. We have received reports from people driving in the area and working in businesses nearby that Edith Blvd NE is closed between Griegos Rd NE and Montaño Rd NE. Closures may change as the situation develops.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area. If you live or work nearby, please avoid entering the area and follow any instructions given by the police.

UPDATE:

At approximately 4:35 PM, the suspect was taken into custody.

Just before 5:00 PM, APD reopened traffic on the north and southbound lanes.

The man is identified as 41-year-old Adam Mann AKA Adam Lopes. He is charged with resisting and evading officers and had felony warrants at the time of his arrest.
