Just before 7:05 PM, officers with the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a report of a shooting near Coors Blvd NW and Fortuna Rd NW. Albuquerque Fire Rescue crews were also dispatched.

Two people with gunshot wounds were transported to a local area hospital. One woman is in stable condition. The condition of a second person, a man who was also shot, is not yet known.

The road rage incident reportedly started near Coors Blvd and Central Ave NW with at least two vehicles involved. The car carrying the gunshot victims stopped at the intersection of Coors Blvd and Fortuna Rd near Discount Tire. The other vehicle involved in the shooting fled the scene.

APD has closed Coors between Cloudcroft Rd NW and Fortuna Rd as officers collect shell casings and gather additional evidence in the area.

If more information is released, we will update you.

UPDATE:

APD has called out its Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU) to investigate the incident. Typically, when the unit is called to a scene, it indicates that those who were shot are expected to survive their injuries.
