Albuquerque –
Just after 8:50 PM, the Albuquerque Police Department received a call about a person who was shot. The individual calling reportedly told police they were taking the victim to a local area hospital.
On the way to the hospital, the car transporting the injured crashed on I-40 at 4th St. When an officer arrived at the location where the car crashed, they found two individuals in the vehicle with gunshot wounds. Both people who were shot were then transported safely to UNMH by an actual ambulance, they are all now purportedly in stable condition.
APD is actively looking for the location where the shooting originally happened. There were reports that it may have occurred near the Los Duranes Park.
APD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU) detectives took over the case. We will update the story if and when anymore information is available.

And how are the people they crashed into doing? Hope everybody in that car is OK.
How about the surrounding neighborhood where these guys shot off over 30 rounds from a handgun and a rifle? It matters not if they are ok.
Hi Trish,
Unfortunately, if the investigating agency does not put out a media release on the initial incident or if the individuals shot do not contact us, we likely will not have an update. What we last heard was that the two people shot were stable, but that was when they were being transported to UNMH last night. But if we hear anything, we will update the story.
Please keep us updated on this. APD recovered over 30 shell casings from a handgun and a rifle.
Hi Stefanie,
Yes, we heard APD was investigating near Los Duranes Park, but they never released any information to the media about what they found. We will try to contact the authorities to see if anyone was arrested or if there are any updates. Stay safe.
