Albuquerque –

At around 4:50 PM on Sunday, October 20th, shots rang out near Coors and Quail. A caller reported to dispatchers that a volley of shots were fired in the area.

When officers from the Albuquerque Police Department arrived at the scene, they found two occupants in a vehicle who had reportedly been struck. One person died at the scene, and another was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition. The person taken to UNMH later died.

We have a reporter en route to the area, but we have received video from people driving in the area. Southbound Coors near the Valero and Home Depot is blocked off by APD officers and Police Service Aides (PSAs).

Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists are arriving to the scene to start an investigation.

We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

While on scene, our reporter observed officers documenting the scene and found casings in the street. A black SUV which was stopped on the overpass for I-40 was in the middle of the road with an AFR ambulance.

This was the second double homicide of the day. Bernalillo County Sheriff’s office investigated one in the South Valley.

    1. That was my cousin and her boyfriend who was killed. And she was a good law abiding citizen and business owner in albuquerque. show compassion and respect!!

  1. Can you provide updates on the Homicide counts for 2024 as we finish out 2024? I know the Mayor’s office separates justified vs non justified homicides, but every one counts as a body count towards our total crime statistics. My last count was 110 before Oct 18.
