Albuquerque –
On August 19, we reported on a crash that occurred on I-40 westbound at Eubank. We have since confirmed with law enforcement that the motorcyclist involved has died from their injuries. The New Mexico State Police are handling the investigation. While details remain limited, the agency provided the following statement earlier today:
“On 8-19-2025, at approximately 6:20 p.m., we responded to a crash involving a motorcycle on I40 WB at Eubank. Emergency medical personnel arrived on scene and transported a female to UNM Hospital. While in transit to the hospital, the female succumbed to her injuries.
The initial investigation indicated that a white 2006 Honda motorcycle was traveling westbound on Interstate 40. For unknown reasons, the motorcycle hit the impact zone at the beginning of the Jersey barrier at the off ramp to Eubank.
We are awaiting results from OMI to confirm the identity of the driver. This crash is still under investigation.”
If more information is released at a later date, we will update this story.
