Daytime Shooting Results in 1 Wounded, 1 in Custody in South Valley

Albuquerque –

At 4:07 PM, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) posted on X that “Northbound Isleta is closed at Arenal due to police activity. Please use La Vega as an alternate route.”

We reached out to BCSO to inquire about the police activity and BCSO’s PIO Sergeant Connor Otero responded and said:

“Deputies are on scene of a shooting. One subject was transported to an area hospital and is listed in stable condition at this time.” Sgt. Otero also said the suspect was taken into custody.
