Albuquerque –
On the afternoon of April 29th, 2026, an officer with APD was patrolling the war zone on Central when he saw a couple of motorcyclists doing a U-turn at an intersection. One of the motorcyclists, later identified as Erik Fierro, decided to play a game with the officer and pointed at him and motioned for the officer to approach him. As the officer approached the motorcyclist, the wannabe stunt driver on the motorcycle decided to pop a wheelie and fled at a speed that was unsafe and careless. The motorcyclist was wearing a distinct gray jersey.
Well, this particular officer is one that ABQRAW happens to see named in numerous criminal complaints as one of the most proactive arresting officers in the city. This officer was not going to let this horrible driver win the day, and he searched for him and the bike high and low until he noticed it was partially hidden under a barber’s cape in a used car lot at 101 Virginia St SE. The officer entered the building with the permission of the building owner and found the wannabe stunt driver hiding in a closet. The driver, Erik Fierro, had stripped off his gray jersey, and it was found hidden in the closet. It turns out the motorcycle hadn’t been registered since 2011. Fierro, it turns out, was already on probation/parole and shouldn’t have been bringing attention to himself, but it seems he just does not care.
Fierro was booked on numerous charges related to the ridiculous driving and escape attempt, and now a new warrant will be issued by probation and parole.
