On September 16, 2024, around 10:30 AM, deputies from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office arrived at Douglas Rd. SW and found a dead person.
Media and the public were notified by a BCSO post on X, formerly known as Twitter, at 6:38 PM. ABQ RAW could have captured footage from the scene, but the delay prevented us from covering BCSO detectives investigating the scene.
The BCSO Homicide Unit is handling the investigation, which is ongoing.
At the time of this posting, BCSO has released very few details. However, they state they will share more information when it’s available.
This is the seventh homicide for the month of September. BCSO detectives are investigating two homicides, APD detectives are handling five. This is the 90th homicide for the Albuquerque Metro area for 2024.
