Shortly after 4 PM, the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash at Marquette Ave. NE and Louisiana Blvd. NE. This is near the intersection of Lomas Blvd and Louisiana Blvd NE.

When officers arrived, they found a person lying in the roadway with critical injuries. The vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene.

Emergency personnel transported the individual to the University of New Mexico Hospital. The person who was struck sustained severe, life threatening injuries.

Due to the severity of the pedestrian’s injuries, APD’s Fatal Crash Team has been called in to investigate. Drivers may want to avoid the area.

UPDATE:

APD has Louisiana blocked between Copper and Lomas while they investigate this crash.

Around 5:45 PM, APD sworn PIO Officer Chase Jewell said that the pedestrian remained in critical condition.
