Barricaded Suspect with Felony Warrants Surrenders After Two-Hour Standoff in War Zone

Albuquerque –

At around 2:15 PM, there was police activity involving the Albuquerque Police Department in the vicinity of Ortiz Dr SE and Eastern Ave SE. A suspect with multiple warrants barricaded themselves inside of an apartment complex. APD had been negotiating with the individual for hours by using public announcements (PAs) to urge her to surrender. Towards the end of the standoff, authorities also started to use flash-bangs.

We had received numerous messages regarding this incident, including residents living in the area.

Around 4:30 PM, the person reportedly surrendered to police. When we get information on their booking into MDC, we will update you.

Stay safe, ABQ.
