Around 3:30 AM on March 11, officers responded to a shooting that happened at the Montgomery Park which is near San Mateo Blvd. and Comanche NE. Shortly after the initial report of the shooting at the park, a vehicle involved in the shooting crashed near the 6801 Montgomery Blvd. N.E. area. According to APD, a second shooting then occurred following the crash.
We have learned that a violent carjacking near Montgomery Park turned deadly when a suspect crashed his Subaru inside Montgomery Park then he ran through the park and attempted to steal a brightly colored car which was occupied by a homeless TikToker named TophiaChu, her mother, and her brother. The carjacker fatally shot her brother, and critically wounded her mother who was in the backseat of the car before taking off in the vehicle with the dead victim and shot mother still inside.
While on scene, we observed the famous colorful sedan of TikToker TophiaChu within the crime scene perimeter as APD was investigating the scene.
The suspect sped towards Montgomery Blvd and crashed into a Jeep near Marla NE. The Jeep’s driver, realizing there were injured and deceased people in the stolen car, panicked and began screaming for help. A security guard from a nearby apartment complex witnessed the chaos and heard the pleas for help, intervened, and fatally shot the suspect, bringing the violent ordeal to an end.
“He intervened. And my understanding is, you know, the person that was in the Jeep, the other victim felt like the security guard saved his life.”, said APD spokesman Gilbert Gallegos
In recapping the story, this appears that it will be a homicide and then a justified homicide when the security guard killed the original suspect. We will update this story when more information is released.
Cowards will always target the most vulnerable, but they also always FAFO. Thank you to the security guard who acted quickly and selflessly!

– Laughing at people because they recently lost their parents
– Abusing animals

This is undoubtedly a tragedy, but Tophia herself is partially responsible for what happened. Furthermore, she has a long history of lying and false accusations to evade responsibility for her actions. For this reason, I for one do not believe her version of events. I do not believe this happened completely unprovoked. I will wait until the investigation concludes and if I am mistaken I will retract my statement, but I will not be surprised if the police end up confirming the evidence doesn’t support her statement.
