Joshua Ray Sanchez being arrested on November 9th, 2021, multiple agencies outside UNMH were looking for a stolen vehicle suspect who had fled on foot in Albuquerque, N.M.

The suspect was eventually identified as Joshua Ray Sanchez.

From court records, Sanchez started his criminal career in 2009 and it has not stopped. He has had criminal complaints filed against him from 2009 to 2018. He had a parole violation in 2018 for a felony conviction of unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, drug charges, and fleeing a law enforcement officer. He was sent to New Mexico Correctional Facility for the violations and was released in July 2021. Three months later he was arrested again and all three cases had no pre-trial detention. His lengthy run-ins with the law are usually dismissed because the prosecution runs out of time to prosecute. Court officials typically use the nolle prosequi term a Latin phrase, which directly translates “not to wish to prosecute.” Nolle prosequi is a legal notice or entry of record that the prosecutor has decided to abandon their prosecution or lawsuit.
