Los Lunas, NM –

Around 8:00 AM, a quiet neighborhood in the 1900 block of Camino Cancun in Los Lunas, New Mexico, was surprised to witness a significant federal police presence from the FBI. Neighbors reported seeing FBI agents conducting interviews with an off-duty APD police officer in his driveway.

The federal agents were seen towing the APD unit from the home’s driveway and took the APD officer from the residence in an unmarked federal police unit.

We learned the APD officer is in the DWI unit and neighbors told us they saw him clearing out his unit last night prior to the raid.

We reached out to APD and they did not comment.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office of New Mexico and they kept it simple with a very short statement simply:

We won’t be releasing anything.”

A few minutes later a new OFFICIAL statement was released by the FBI saying:

“We can confirm federal law enforcement activity at that location, done with the full cooperation of the Albuquerque Police Department, and we will decline to comment further.”

“Albuquerque Police Department, and we will decline to comment further. We will update the story when court documents become unsealed from the federal courts.

Footage from the scene can be found HERE:

UPDATED:

Around 4:45PM, we received a statement from the Second Judicial District Attorney’s office which said:

“On January 18, the District Attorney’s Office dismissed approximately 144 DWI cases.

We did this in deference to an ongoing federal investigation.  Please refer any and all inquiries to the US Attorney’s Office.”
