Albuquerque –
Detectives from the Albuquerque Police Department have charged Caleb Parker-Arias, 23, for the death of a man at a house party early Saturday morning in Southwest Albuquerque.
The deceased victim, a 25-year-old male, is not being identified until his family is notified of his death.
Around 10:00 AM on Saturday, APD officers responded to a report of a deceased man at a home located at 405 Lindsay Pl. SW, which is just north of Bridge Blvd. and west of Coors.
A person who called 911 reported finding the body of a deceased man who was at a party at the residence the previous night. The caller suspected that the man might have slipped and hit his head. Officers arrived at the scene and discovered the man lying in a hallway, covered in blood. Homicide detectives were promptly called to initiate an investigation.
Detectives interviewed the men who were with Parker-Arias and found that Parker-Arias was involved in an altercation with the victim after everyone had left the party. The two men continued to drink alcohol even after the person who rented the home and three others went to bed.
Parker-Arias later visited a friend’s house and confessed to killing a man at a party after an altercation. Parker-Arias allegedly confessed to the friend that he had consumed alcohol and cocaine before the altercation.
Parker-Arias was charged with an open count of murder and booked overnight into the Metro Detention Center.
This is the 102 homicide for Albuquerque for 2025. At ABQRAW, we count every death that the Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI) classifies as a homicide. We use the OMI numbers because they are aware of every reported and investigated homicide death in Albuquerque, and the investigating agency. Most law enforcement agencies in Albuquerque exclude justifiable homicides and fatal officer-involved shootings from their homicide statistics, which consequently leads to lower reported homicide numbers to the public.
