This opinion piece is about the 15-year-old boy that was chased, shot, and then killed at the laundromat at 611 San Mateo Blvd SE.
If you are unfamiliar with this homicide, you can refer to our previous coverage, which we have provided the links below for your reference.
The victim’s family and friends wants the public to know more about Michael, the young man killed. Below is something they sent ABQRAW asking us to post it on their behalf:
Michael was a good kid and loved and protected his family and friends. He was so kind and would never hurt anyone, he is very missed.
One shot and killed affected a whole family the victim was 15 year old Michael Rowe. He was a brother, a cousin, a son, a best friend. A sweet and kind soul who didn’t deserve to die. This was not even his fight early in the evening 2 unknown females were physically fighting Michael tried to break up the fight n keep the peace because that’s who he was. Michael’s friend went home with her mom and Michael stayed behind to fold the laundry when this evil man came back and chased a 15 year old baby he was running for his life when he was shot in the back and then that evil man punched him in the head then as he laid there dying by himself Albuquerque ambulance took entirely too long to arrive and by the time he arrived at the hospital he succumbed to his injuries. He died alone in the hospital with noone by his side scared left wondering why this happened to him. Please share this and let the ppl of Albuquerque know this was a child killed by a grown man for no reason.

I remember 20 years ago, when in Iraq, I heard a couple of Marines talking about how they described Albuquerque, like the wild west. I reflect and realize now, they gave NM too much credit. The wild west didn’t tolerate thieves, crime, or murder. NM ranks dead last in everything except crime. The dems who run the welfare plantation state, symbolize and reflect what the state represents. Crime! A state is only as good as it’s leadership. Why do people keep voting for more of the same?

If it were the wild west, we would actually get justice. I think the best way to describe this place is a lawless dystopia.
