Upon their arrival, officers found a male lying on the side of the roadway who was beyond medical help. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators from APD determined that a blue Ford truck struck the male pedestrian while traveling north on 12th Street, then fled the scene. Detectives collected evidence indicating the suspect vehicle is a blue Ford truck with significant damage to the front passenger side, including a missing portion of the front bumper and passenger headlamp.

APD’s Fatal Crash Team continues to investigate this fatal hit-and-run crash.

Authorities say they will release more details when they become available.
