APD’s SWAT team is now on scene, utilizing tactical measures to ensure a safe resolution.

Residents have reported concerns about road closures and a significant police presence. Multiple streets in the area are currently blocked as law enforcement secures the scene. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area until further notice.

If you reside within the secured perimeter, you are advised to shelter in place. If you must leave the perimeter, APD will permit you to leave for emergencies. However, re-entry will not be allowed until the SWAT operation is resolved.

UPDATE:

Just after 3:30 PM, the SWAT situation ended. Albuquerque Fire Rescue was on scene staging during the entire SWAT situation, but Albuquerque Ambulance arrived at the end to evaluate the person. We are waiting on scene to see what happens.

If we learn more, we will update you.
