Albuquerque –
On June 2nd, 2025, at approximately 4:25pm, Albuquerque Fire and Bernalillo County Fire Rescue Units were deployed to the Hahn Arroyo channel for a possible flood victim that was spotted in the water near Pennsylvania St. AFR Units responded to seven assigned rescue locations. The victim was first spotted in the main diversion channel near Menaul Blvd. APD was also observed on NM DOT cameras looking for a possible victim along I-40.
The victim was not seen again until a witness walking on a hiking trail near the North Diversion Channel Outfall Sedimentation Basin saw a body floating in the water. They called it into 911 dispatch and rescue crews were sent to the scene. It was confirmed by them it was a lifeless body and needed to be recovered.
BCSO and OMI personnel were assisted with body recovery by an airboat resource.
The metro area received noticeable rainfall and around 3:40 PM, arroyos along I-40 were completely full.



The incident is under investigation at this time, no other information available.
