The Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office is committed to the pursuit of justice.  The week of June 16, 2025, there are three jury trials taking place in Bernalillo County.

Celso Anthony Montano

Case Number: D-202-CR-2024-02192  

  • Kidnapping First Degree (Intent to Commit Sexual Offense)
  • Three Counts Criminal Sexual Penetration in the Second Degree (Results in Personal Injury)
  • Aggravated Battery (Great Bodily Harm)
  • Bribery of a Witness (Threats or Bribes-Reporting)
  • Use of Telephone to Terrify, Intimidate, Threaten, Harass, Annoy or Offend
  • Two Counts of Battery

On June 17, 18, and 20, 2025, at 9:00 AM each day, a jury trial in the case of State of New Mexico v. Celso Anthony Montano (Case No. D-202-CR-2024-02192) will be held in Courtroom 420 in Albuquerque, NM, presided over by Judge Cindy Leos.


Jose Zamaron

Case Number: D-202-CR-2024-02798   

  • Breaking and Entering
  • Conspiracy to Commit Breaking and Entering
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance

Zamaron was scheduled to appear in court on June 17, 2025, but opted to take a plea deal before trial.

According to the DA’s office, Zamaron pled at the last minute right before trial. He pled guilty to breaking and entering, conspiracy breaking and entering and possession of a controlled substance.

The judge placed him on three years supervised probation. So if he violates probation, because he’s an habitual offender, he could spend an additional two years in prison.


Chase Brandon Cuffie

Case Number: D-202-CR-2024-03384  

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon or Explosive by a Prisoner

On June 18, 2025, at 8:30 AM, a jury trial in the case of State of New Mexico v. Chase Brandon Cuffie (Case No. D-202-CR-2024-03384) will be held in Courtroom 402 in Albuquerque, NM, presided over by Judge Clara Moran.


Courts presume that the defendant is innocent unless and until the prosecution secures a conviction through due process.
